MONI Smart Security was founded in 1994 as Monitronics International. It changed its name and logo to Moni in 2016. Then in February 2018, it licensed its trademarks and businesses to Brink’s Home Security, whose parent organization is Ascent Capital Group.
MONI Smart Security offers flexible home security and home automation packages and provides product and support to customers in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. They offer 24/7 alarm monitoring, real-time mobile communication, smart-home options that include locks, lights, indoor and outdoor video cameras. MONI security consultants work with individual customers to determine the package and tools that fit their needs.
There are three security and home automation plans to choose from called Basic, HomeTouch, and HomeTouch Premier. Each new customer will experience low upfront costs to get started. They can also expect to sign a contract ranging from three to five years with monthly service costs ranging from $34.95 per month for the Basic plan, up to $149 per month for the HomeTouch Premier, with the HomeTouch package lying in the middle range. Each plan does include customizable features that will change the monthly cost. A unique feature offered by MONI Smart Security is false alarm protection. The company will cover up to two false alarms per year, which includes a $50 reimbursement to each customer per covered false alarm.
